CORDELL, Scott Taylor August 28, 1948 - December 3, 2013 Loving
husband and father, Scott Cordell at age 65, passed away in Spokane,
Washington December 3, 2013. He was born August 28, 1948 in Fukuoka,
Japan to Brigadier General Richard and Vonnie Cordell. His family lived
in many places throughout the world. He graduated from high school in
Wiesbaden, Germany. He continued his education at Brigham Young
University, receiving his degree in Business Management. He then moved
to Spokane, Washington with his family and lived and served in the
community for 40 years. He worked for 28 years at Western United Live
Assurance Company where he became Senior Vice President. Scott was a
member of the Washington Officials Association and served as a football
official for 34 years and scheduler for the past 3 years. He officiated
youth league, high school, college and even Big Sky Conference games. He
received many honors including Umpire of the year, Meritorious Service
to the Youth of Our State, and the Larry Becker Award. He was a member
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in
many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher, Seminary Teacher,
Bishop, and he fulfilled a Service Mission with his wife. He was known
as a natural teacher. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Cordell and
their four daughters: Vickie (and Jayson Burrie); Jackie (and Andrew
Judd); Kasey (and Karl Woodard); and Jessie (and Tyson Chischillie); ten
grandchildren (the latest born Friday, December 6); his mother, Vonnie
Taylor Cordell; his sister, Gay (and Marc Ekelund); and sister-in-law,
Dara Cordell. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Cordell and
brothers: Michael Cordell and Robert Cordell. A funeral service will be
held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; 401 W Regina,
Spokane, WA 99218 on Wednesday December 11, 2013. The viewing will be at
10:00 am, the service at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside prayer at
Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley Spokane, WA. Please visit
