Stephanie Bissell passed away after a five year illness on Friday, March 13, 2015.
Stephanie Was born November 13, 1948 in Richmond, VA. She
worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines for over 40 years. She
started her career in New York, then went to Washington D.C. on special
assignment to investigate crash sites and how it impacted the Inflight
Department. Her next assignment was Flight Attendant Supervisor for the
Washington D.C. airports. She was transferred to Denver for the same
position.
In
2000 she returned to Flight Attendant status and transferred to San
Francisco. She moved to Napa where she met and married David Lamp and
became beloved partners for life. As a couple they loved being with
friends and family. They traveled across the country as avid NASCAR fans
and collected memorabilia from all the races they attended.
A
special saying was “Stephanie would go to an opening of an envelope,”
which described her zest for life, laughing, and being with the people
she loved.
Her loss is mourned
by her husband David Lamp; sister Susan (Joe) Wegman; mother and
father-in-law Joyce and George Lamp; sister and brother-in-law Lori and
Sven Oja; nephews Ryan Cranston and Sophia, Stephen Oja, Scott (Christy)
Wegman; nieces Melissa Wegman, Jennifer (Tim) Smith, Krissy (David)
Onorato; and eight great-nieces and nephews. Stephanie will be greatly
missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
She
was passionate about animal rescue. Their beloved dog Spencer passed
away a few months ago and will be remembered as her fond companion.
A Celebration of Life has been held.
In
lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Holly
Cranston Memorial Fund or the Napa Humane Society in her memory.
