Susan C. Rezner '63

GERING — Susan C. Thomsic, 56 formerly of Gering, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 in Kearney . Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering with Father Gerald Harr and Father Stephen Deaver officiating.  

Memorials can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Cards and memorials may be sent to Indian Hills Road #8, Kearney , NE 68847 . Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.  

She was born on Nov. 9, 1945 in Annapolis , Md. to Howard L. and Catharine (Smith) Rezner. She attended and graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in English. She taught English at Phoenix High School in Phoenix , Ariz. She was united in marriage to Michael Fredrick Thomsic III on Oct. 5, 1968 at Tustin, Calif. Her husband was in the U.S. Air Force, traveling to various places with him. Finally settling in the Scottsbluff-Gering area in 1981. She was an active volunteer in her community. She was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering. She was involved in both the Gering Junior High and High School. She also worked as a librarian at the Gering Public Library.

Susan is survived by her children, Michael Thomsic and Beth Thomsic, parents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rezner; brothers and sisters, Alan Rezner, Mark Rezner, David Rezner, Gregory Rezner, Teresa Oakes, John Rezner, Carolyn Ledbetter, Stephen Rezner and Paul Rezner and host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Fredrick Thomsic III.
