Benjamin Andrae Sessoms passed away February 13, 2015. The first child of the late Benjamin and Mary Margaret Sessoms, Andrae was born August 5, 1959 in Lumberton, NC. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jakim Ben-Jamaal Sessoms and one sister, Estella Lorita Sessoms. Andrae was proud to be chosen to play on the 1977 Annual Albert Schweitzer Basketball Tournament Team in Wiesbaden, Germany. He played on the team with NBA stars Larry Bird, and Earvin 'Magic' Johnson. Andrae graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Technology. His home was in Orlando, Florida for many years, until he relocated to Texas. Andrae was affectionately known as DRAE. He had a love for helping others and seeing others happy. Andrae knew no strangers. He enjoyed sending daily inspirations. He lived his life to the fullest. God gave him the strength and courage to spend time with family and friends that were so dear to him before his passing.
Andrae is deeply missed by his family, friends, as well as his sister, Renee Crawford, and his girlfriend, Barbara Friedman, to both of whom the Wiesbaden Warrior Alumni community is grateful, for letting us know of Andrae's passing.
