Joseph A. De Paul February 4, 1960 - December 13, 2019
Joseph Anthony De Paul, beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend
and colleague, passed away suddenly on December 13, 2019, in Fairfield,
California. He was 59 years old.
Joseph was born in San
Francisco, California, on February 4, 1960, to Vincent and Socorro De
Paul. As the son of a U.S. Airman, Joe spent his childhood years in
various locations around the world before graduating from Serramonte
High School in Daly City, California.
He attended the
University of California, Berkeley studying Mechanical Engineering from
1978-1982. There, he joined the Theta Xi fraternity where he met many
lifelong best friends that he is proud to call his “brothers.”
Joe
enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1983 and served as a Machinist Mate
aboard the USS Jason. He was especially proud of his service to our
country and maintained many close relationships with his shipmates.
Joe met Lisa while working as a Navy recruiter at the Westfield Mall in
Fairfield, where he convinced her to not join the Navy and to marry him
instead. They spent many years travelling and building a life together
before giving birth to their daughter, Skylar, his pride and joy, in
December of 1998.
Joe received his MBA in Technology
Management from the University of Phoenix in 2000. He began his
engineering career working for a number of food processing companies
before breaking into the biotech community. He started his own business
in 2007 called JL Skye, named after his family whom he dearly loved and
supported.
Joe was a hard-working, fun-loving, compassionate
man who strived to make the world a better place and serve as a mentor
for upcoming generations. He was big, loud, liked guns and loved his
country. He enjoyed discussing politics, Cal football and spending time
at his vacation home near Lake Shasta — but most of all, he was a
dedicated family man. His wisdom, vision and unforgettable personality
will be greatly missed.
Joseph is survived by his wife Lisa,
daughter Skylar, parents Vincent and Socorro, brother Robert (Kate),
sister Virna (Craig), sister-in-law Wendy, sister Carol (Junior), close
nephew Jonathan and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and
beloved friends and colleagues.
He is preceded in death by his brother James and niece Sierra.
Viewing and Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Monday,
December 30, 2019, at the Rockville Stone Chapel, 4219 Suisun Valley
Road, Fairfield, California, 94534.
Dad, rest peacefully
knowing the positive impact you have had on this world. I will miss you
dearly, but the love will never pass. God bless and keep you.
