Linda Lea Brooks Sphar, 57, of Allenhurst made her heavenly flight home on Dec. 7, 2017.
Born
in Pinehurst , NC, she was the daughter of the late CW4 (US Army, ret.)
Grover William ""Bill"" and Isabel Elizabeth Russell Brooks. She was a
resident of Allenhurst for 33 years. A proud Army brat, she was an honor
graduate of H.H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany, where she
was a cheerleader, captain of the drill team and legendary as the best
dancer.
Linda was alternately a bricklayer, dump truck driver and
painter, but for the last eight years, she was a parts specialist at
O'Reilly Auto Parts in Hinesville. She was diehard Pittsburgh Steelers
fan. A beach bum at heart, any beach would do, but Panama City Beach was
her happy place and its sunsets her passion. Her grandchildren were
simply her world.
Outspoken and friendly, Linda never met a
stranger. The friendships she made were long lasting because her ability
to love was unconditional. She was loved and will be missed by everyone
she met.
She is survived by her husband, Travis Sphar; her two
daughters, Danielle Lea Ramsey (Josh) and Courtney Nicole Langston
(Aaron); three grandchildren, Alexis Lea Rose, Emily Elizabeth and Owen
Michael Bruce; two sisters, Beth ""Peanut"" Brooks Amerspek (Eric) and
Debra A. Brooks Hinton; her best friend, Jennifer Harrison; and many
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Her funeral
service will follow at 8 p.m.
Because Linda was a devoted animal
lover, the family suggests memorial donations to your local or favorite
animal shelter in lieu of flowers.
Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at
