Kenneth Todd 'Ken' Kimmel

April 8, 1970 - May 15, 2012

Ken was born April 8, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio at Lockbourne Air Force Base to Walter Kimmel and Donna (Ourant) Kimmel. Kenneth passed away in Tahlequah, Okla. on May 15, 2012 at the age of 42 years 1 month 7 days. Kenneth was a 1988 graduate of Wiesbaden High School in Germany. He graduated from Northeastern State University in 1998. Kenneth's first and foremost love was being a dad to his son, Obie. He enjoyed the music of Pink Floyd and Randy Crouch. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved to cook, and had been a loyal employee of Northeastern State for over 10 years.

He has been preceded in death by a twin sister, Melinda Kimmel; paternal grandparents, Doris and Eugene Kimmel. Kenneth is survived by his parents, Walter and Donna Kimmel of OKC, Okla.; son, Obediah Kimmel of Fayetteville, Ark.; maternal grandparents, John and Marge Ourant of Scio, Ohio; brother, Jason Kimmel and Keena of Arboles, Colo.; stepson, Zack Flack of Tahlequah, Okla.; aunts, Carol and Kathie Ourant of Columbus and Jan Kimmel of Ridgeville; uncles, John Kimmel of Columbus, Alan Kimmel of Ridgeville and Keith (Sherry) Kimmel of Gnadenhutten; and numerous cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Friday June 1, 2012 at 4 p.m. in Scio United Methodist Church with Rev. Karen Heyburn officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Scio. The family requests that in lieu of flowers Memorial contributions be made to Ourant School Scholarship Program, c/o Jack Ourant, 38475 Scio-Bowerston Rd., Scio or the donor's choice.
