Louise Austin Towey

Louise Austin Towey

Louise Austin was and is a tough customer when it comes to finding details about her life. And that is meant with the utmost respect. She attended General H. H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany with the class of 1989. It is obvious that Louise left HH Arnold after her Junior year, otherwise, the 1989 yearbook would be full of her smiling face, much like the 1988 yearbook is.

By all accounts, Louise had a blast in high school. She was a Basketball Cheerleader, joined the Golf team, was involved in the Keyettes Club, the Students Against Drunk Driving Club, and was in ROTC as well.

Louise is fondly remembered by many classmates who attended high school with her.

JoAnne Dykes & Louise Austin - Prom 1988

Louisa passed away in 2013. She was predeceased by her mother, and survived by her father, and her brother Teddy, as well as her husband, Jeff Towey and their son, Savion, along with other family members.

Louise heard about the Wiesbaden Warrior network we were running in early 2008, before Facebook took off, and she signed on for a short time to catch up and see what everyone was up to. At that point, Louise had a strong concern for the protection of her privacy and personal information and she was savvy about the invasive nature of social networking. We talked briefly about her concerns and, of course, they were valid. So she stayed only long enough to see what her old friends were up to and then she quietly left the network, and all signs of her having been there were erased.

Louise was close to fellow Warrior Jozette Hunter, who shared the news of Louise's passing. In the hopes of putting some thought and care into remembering Louise, we are sharing Jozette's updates here. They are heartfelt and deeply appreciated.

Louise, you lived your life on your own terms. I hope you don't mind us sharing the small part of it that crossed paths with your fellow Wiesbaden Warriors.

Rest on in peace, Louise.
You are fondly remembered and dearly missed.
