Sonja Langley will be greatly missed by her colleagues and students at Prairie View A&M University. With a warm personality, open mind and embracing arms, she conquered our hearts and minds and would live in our memory.

I have known Dr. Langley for more than 10 years. I met her for the first time when she came to PVAMU for a job interview. I was impressed with her solid personality and sense of humor, which stayed with her till the very end. I found her in a good humorous spirit when I visited her just a week before her passing. She embraced the inevitable with grace, dignity and courage.
Dr. Langley made lasting impressions with our faculty and students. She was a great colleague with very high work ethics and standards, and she demanded the very best from her students as well. It is a tragic loss for our students and faculty that she left us so early.
Rest in peace, Dr. Langley. We will miss you.

Gary -- our thoughts and prayers go out to you. As Dylan reminds us "there is no end to grief. .. but there is no end to love." We really enjoyed having Sonja as a student -- and I particularly enjoyed directing her excellent dissertation. She was a real scholar, dug deeply into difficult issues and really loved economics. That is shown for sure by her students' remarks. She will be missed -- I loved her humor -- and remembered by the Auburn group. All sympathy for you, Bob Ekelund (and Mark Thornton).

Sonja was one of my best friends when I went to high school in Wiesbaden. There were a group of about 6 of us who loved each other like sisters. Prayers for all of her family and her friends. The world has lost a wonderful person and there on no words.

Sonja was a very popular professor who set high standards in her classes and had a very positive impact on many students at Prairie View A&M University. This important legacy will endure as these students succeed in life. She was also a wonderful colleague and a hard worker. She will be missed greatly.
