Conrad J. Johnson PENNINGTON - Conrad J. Johnson, 96, went to be
with the Lord on Feb. 11, 2009, at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St.
Francis, Trenton. Born in Westfield, NJ, Mr. Johnson grew up in Garwood
with three brothers and was a longtime resident of Pennington. He and
his wife, Melita, were married for 69 years. He taught industrial arts
for 40 years at The College of New Jersey, from which he graduated in
1936. He also taught at H.H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany,
the University of Dundee, Scotland, and the University of Frankfort,
Germany. In addition to his wife Melita, he is survived by his daughter,
Janet (Norman); his son, Barry, and his grandchildren, Donna (Paul) and
Paul. Burial will be private for the family in the Pennington Cemetery.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 2
p.m. at the Pennington Presbyterian Church, 13 S. Main St., Pennington,
with the Rev. Nancy Mikoski officiating. The family will provide
flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennington Library,
