Deborah Jean Stafford passed away September 25, 2010, at the
Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Debbie was the daughter of Philip and Lois (Morton) Stafford.
She graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 1970 and
obtained a Bachelor of Education Degree with a minor in Library
Science from the University of Wyoming in 1974.
After her
employment with the Carbon County School District from 1974 to
1977, Debbie returned to the University of Wyoming and obtained a
Master's Degree in Library Science. She then began a long career as
a high school librarian in Denton, Montana, and then with the
Department of Defense Schools in Seoul, South Korea, Nuremberg,
Germany and Wiesbaden, Germany. At the time of her death, she was
the head librarian at Wiesbaden High School, Wiesbaden Germany.
Debbie will always be remembered for her dedication to and care
for her family, her students and many friends and her love for her
dogs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather,
Jose Gallegos, and a brother, Stanley Stafford. She is survived by
her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Stephen Ownbey of
Laramie, her brother Charles B. Stafford of Cheyenne, her niece and
nephew, Adriel and Nathan Ownbey, her aunt, Joy Stafford Riske,
Uncles Ron and Beryl Morton and their wives, and many cousins and
close friends.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of
Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Service arrangements will be announced
at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to the Deborah Jean Stafford Scholarship
Fund for students of Wiesbaden High School, in care of Riske,
Salisbury-Kelly, P.C., 1720 Carey Avenue, Suite 500,
Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001.
